How to Show Your Work
The exhibitions program at Paint Creek Center for the Arts supports the work of emerging and established contemporary artists in the Greater Michigan region. Artists who produce contemporary art in any/all media, are 18 years of age or older and who live in the region may submit exhibition proposals for consideration. Works submitted must have been completed within the last four years and may not have been previously shown in any capacity at PCCA.
Artists are encouraged to submit proposals for both solo and group exhibitions. PCCA’s exhibition committee, which includes artists, critics, curators and art educators, meet throughout the year to review entries.
Artists are responsible for covering expenses for transporting/shipping works to and from the gallery, attending the exhibition reception and participating in a gallery talk. All works must be ready-to-hang and presented in a professional manner. PCCA will curate and implement overall exhibition design (including artwork placement, signage and lighting); promote the exhibition using postcards, social media, and press outreach; and insure the retail value of each work while on display in the gallery.
To have your work considered for an exhibition at PCCA, please submit the following materials via email to firstname.lastname@example.org Please make sure the subject line of your email reads: Exhibition Proposal
Materials to send:
• Letter of interest
• Up-to-date CV
• Artist Statement
• 10 to 20 jpeg images of work. Each file must be labeled with the title of the work.
• An image list – to include a thumbnail of work, title of work, dimensions, medium and price for each piece.
Proposals missing any of the listed materials above will not be considered.
Artists who wish to exhibit their work as a group must submit individual entries, as outlined above – please make a note in your letter of interest the name(s) of the other artists you wish to show with. Works submitted for consideration must be available for exhibition. We do not consider proposals for traveling exhibitions or submissions from outside curators. In the event that we decide to work with an outside curator, those arrangements will be initiated by PCCA.
Throughout the year PCCA does send out calls for entries for juried exhibitions. Artists interested in receiving the call for entries emails may submit their contact information to email@example.com with the subject line Call for Entries.
