It is Paint Creek Center for the Arts’ mission to celebrate and support creativity in our community by providing opportunities for all to learn, create, experience, and appreciate the arts. By registering for a class, camp, or workshop with Paint Creek Center for the Arts you agree to abide by the following policies and procedures.

Student Conduct: Being a student at PCCA comes with the expectation to act with professionalism and in accordance with behavioral expectations. Offensive, aggressive, or other behavior which disrupts the orderly function of PCCA is prohibited and will not be tolerated.

In our effort to ensure the safety of all of our students, faculty, and staff, PCCA will strictly enforce all current state and local mandates issued in response to the Covid-19 health crisis.  In addition, PCCA will impose additional restrictions given the unique nature of the services we provide. By registering for in-person classes, you agree to follow these mandates and restrictions including, but not limited to, the following potential requirements:

  1. Wearing a mask at all times while inside PCCA.
  2. Maintaining appropriate social distance as much as possible.
  3. Agreeing to temperature checks before entering the building.
  4. Using only your personal tools/supplies (or those distributed for your use by PCCA staff).
  5. Limiting personal items brought into PCCA to those that can be stored in the area assigned to you by PCCA staff.

REGISTRATION: Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. Payment is due in full at the time of registration. Registrations will be accepted until the second week of class if space is available, however, tuition will not be pro-rated.

PAYMENT:  Registration is accepted on the web, in person, or by phone. Registrations are not accepted in the classroom. The following payments are accepted: Cash, Check, VISA, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express.

CANCELLATIONS FOR ON-SITE & VIRTUAL/ONLINE CLASSES: PCCA reserves the right to cancel any class when there is insufficient enrollment. Registrants will be notified as late as the night prior to the first class session and will receive a full refund for their enrollment unless they would prefer a credit to use towards future registrations or would like to transfer into another class that is running.

MAKE UP CLASSES: All virtual classes are recorded for PCCA’s use.  If technical challenges arise at the start or during a virtual class from PCCA or its faculty, PCCA will determine how to best rectify the situation at no cost to the student, i.e. rescheduling the virtual class. Refunds will not be extended for a student who opts not to attend. If a student experiences technical challenges or misses a virtual class for any other reason, they should request a link to the missed class recording.

REFUNDS FOR ON-SITE AND VIRTUAL/ONLINE CLASSES: Refunds at the student’s request will only be given when a registrant withdraws from a class at least one week prior to the first class session. A $25 cancellation fee will be applied to all cancellations unless initiated by PCCA. No refunds will be made after the one-week advance deadline, and there are no refunds for missed class sessions. For those students who request a refund, refunds will be issued online for credit card transactions, and by check for cash or check payments.

SPECIAL NOTE REGARDING ONLINE/VIRTUAL CLASSES: Refunds will not be extended for a student who opts not to attend. If a student experiences technical challenges or misses a virtual class for any other reason, they should request a link to the missed class recording.

RETURNED CHECKS:  A $25 service charge is applied to any check returned due to insufficient funds.

MATERIALS: All supplies are provided for Children and Youth Classes, Summer Camps, and Workshops, unless specifically noted in the class description. High School and Adult students are required to purchase their own supplies. A materials list will be provided at registration and is also available on the PCCA website. PCCA does not reimburse for unused supplies.

CHILD DROP-OFF/PICK-UP:  For the safety of young students, PCCA requires that parents do not drop children off more than 10 minutes prior to the start of class and always pick children up within 5 minutes following class. In the case of an emergency when a child cannot be picked up from class on time, please alert PCCA by calling 248.651.4110.

CATALOG DISCLAIMER: The PCCA catalog is printed in advance of registration and some information is updated after the print date. Please refer to the online registration listings for the most up to date information at www.pccart.org

FACULTY SUBSTITUTIONS:  PCCA may find it necessary to substitute faculty at any time during the class term. A change in faculty does not grant students the right to a refund once the class has started.

PERSONAL ITEMS:  PCCA is not responsible for personal items left in the classroom or artwork not picked up by the second week following the end of class.

PROMOTIONAL PHOTOGRAPHY:  PCCA reserves the right to photograph activities that occur on its premises. This includes students in classes, workshops, and camps, and student artwork for use in PCCA’s promotional materials. Please notify the instructor or PCCA staff in advance of the start of class if this is a concern.

VIRTUAL/ONLINE CLASSES: All online and virtual classes with PCCA are recorded. By registering as a student in a virtual/online class with PCCA, you acknowledge and agree to being recorded to the extent of your participation in that class at that time. Please be mindful of the information you share online during your class periods. If a student experiences technical challenges or misses a virtual class for any reason, they should request a link to the missed class recording.

Head Lice Policy – PCCA follows the “no nit rule”: If it is discovered that a PCCA student has an active infestation of lice while participating in activates, said student will be sent home immediately. Parents of students who came into contact with infected student will be notified.
All lice, eggs and nits must be removed before student returns to PCCA activities.

INCLEMENT WEATHER OR EMERGENCY CLOSINGS: Due to inclement weather or an emergency, PCCA will announce the cancellation of classes on its phone system recording at 248.651.4110, the website homepage at www.pccart.org, and social media. PCCA faculty and students are responsible to call and listen to the phone system recording to determine whether or not their class will be held. Class sessions cancelled for inclement weather or emergencies by PCCA, will be rescheduled whenever possible with a maximum of two sessions per term. Open studio will not be rescheduled.
